Job Description:

Friendly, established law firm is seeking an entry-level Litigation Associate. This firm offers mentorship, training and development as a litigation associate, you will be responsible for handling personal injury defense cases, starting from their initiation until their conclusion. You will also be managing various legal tasks such as law and motion, taking and defending depositions, making court appearances, and trial preparation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle personal injury defense cases from inception to completion
  • Execute law and motion practices, ensuring legal processes are followed accurately
  • Take responsibility for taking and defending depositions as part of the case handling process
  • Make court appearances as required, representing the client and presenting the case effectively
  • Prepare for trials, organizing all necessary documentation and information
  • Handle case loads effectively, ensuring all cases are managed efficiently
  • Manage 1st and 3rd party claims, ensuring all legal aspects are handled appropriately
  • Utilize case management software for efficient handling of cases
  • Handle complaint administration, ensuring all customer complaints are resolved in a timely manner
  • Utilize your civil litigation experience and insurance defense litigation skills to effectively represent clients

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state
  • Familiarity with case management software and document management systems
  • Proficiency in civil litigation, claim administration, and complaint handling procedures
  • Knowledge of consumer electronics law would be advantageous
  • Prior experience as a litigation attorney, particularly in civil litigation, is desirable
  • Experience in insurance defense litigation would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity
  • CA Bar licensed required - Must be local to LA

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of consumer electronics law
  • Prior experience as a litigation attorney, particularly in civil litigation
