The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking Entry-Level or Associate Fabrication Specialist to join the Phantom Works Operations team in Mesa, AZ. This position will require strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively work with the build team to support various proprietary programs. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Critical attributes of a successful candidate are attention to detail in process steps, self-motivation/strong work ethic, good communication, constructive collaboration with teams, good manual dexterity, and an ability to work in an environment with solvents. Additionally, this opportunity requires obtaining and maintaining a DoD “Final” Secret security clearance as well as Special Program accesses.
Job Responsibility:
Develops lay-up and assembly set-ups and techniques for the fabrication of composite structural and assemblies
Sets up and troubleshoots composite parts for assembly or layup
Assembles, lays up, or and supports processes the fabrication of parts and components
Identify nonconforming detail parts, assemblies and processes
Work with engineering to improve manufacturing processes
Fabricate composite detail parts using various pre-preg composite materials and/or wet layup processes
Locate station lines, index points, and E.O.P lines to establish exact locations of ply installations and components
Assemble and install detail composite and metallic components by bonding, sealing, cementing, and riveting to engineering specifications
Set up, weigh, mix and apply composite adhesives per engineering and company specifications
Prep and apply required release agents to composite prototype and or production tooling per company specifications
Working knowledge of composite material bonding best practices, FOD control and prevention
Requirements:
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
Ability to work 1st Shift
Must have High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
Must have experience interpreting and working from blueprints, sketches and written and verbal instructions, in English
Nice to have:
Active Secret Clearance or higher preferred
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
