Job Description:

The ITD Content Division is seeking a highly motivated and skilled intern to join our team in-person at the IMF Washington DC HQ offices for a 3-month internship focused on enterprise search technologies with generative AI capabilities. The intern will conduct research, develop proof of concept, prototype, and compare GenAI-driven search solutions to recommend the most effective path for enterprise search strategy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Technology Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of GenAI capabilities in enterprise search platforms, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and relevance intelligence
  • Prototyping & PoC Development: Develop functional proofs-of-concept using platform services, APIs, and SDKs from a number of leading technologies
  • Comparative Analysis: Evaluate options by documenting the advantages and disadvantages of each platform, focusing on quality of GenAI search results, performance, scalability, security, and ease of integration
  • Lessons Learned Documentation: Maintain an ongoing documentation of key learnings, challenges, successes, and findings throughout the internship, regularly updating and reviewing the living document to capture project insights

Requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a Master’s degree program in a relevant field, such as information technology (computer science, information systems management), data science, or business administration
  • Be in student status at the time of the internship
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Have an excellent command of English (both written and oral)
  • Show an interest in, and aptitude for working in a multicultural environment

Nice to have:

  • Strong knowledge of Search technology
  • prior experience working with commercial Search products are preferred
