Enterprise Network Specialist Role: Enterprise Network Specialist Contract Duration: 3 Months (Initial) Location: Newcastle / Hunter New England Region, NSW Engagement Model: Physical Site Attendance Required Position Overview FinXL is seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Network Specialist to join a critical infrastructure project across the Hunter region. This role is focused on high-level site auditing, technical validation, and environment assessment to support a major network modernization program. You will be embedded within an established network engineering team, providing the "boots on the ground" expertise required to survey complex enterprise environments and ensure technical readiness for upcoming deployments. Scope of Work Site Surveys & Audits: Conduct comprehensive physical and logical network site surveys at various locations throughout the Hunter region. Technical Validation: Assess and validate existing network environments, including hardware lifecycle, cabling infrastructure, and configuration standards. Design Support: Provide detailed technical reports and site-specific recommendations to the central network design and engineering teams. Environment Assessment: Identify potential risks, bottlenecks, or infrastructure limitations that could impact future technical rollouts. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the internal network team to ensure data accuracy and alignment with broader program milestones. Technical Expertise Required To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate mid-to-senior level expertise across a multi-vendor landscape, specifically: Extreme Networks: Strong knowledge of Extreme switching and management platforms. Cisco: Experience with Cisco routing, switching, and enterprise wireless solutions. Fortinet: Familiarity with FortiGate firewall environments and security appliances. HP/Aruba: Proven experience with Aruba wireless access points and ClearPass/AirWave. Core Requirements Location & Mobility: Must be based in or near Newcastle. This role requires regular travel across the Hunter New England region; a valid driver's license and reliable transport are essential. Physical Presence: Ability to attend sites physically for surveys and hardware assessments as required. Communication: Excellent technical documentation skills and the ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Adaptability: Experience working in complex, fast-paced enterprise environments with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
