Job Description

The Enterprise Business Systems Lead is responsible for the design, implementation oversight, support, and continuous improvement of Enterprise Business Systems, integration, and related platforms and technologies. This role serves as a key liaison between business function stakeholders and functional operation Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Enterprise IT services, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure systems operate efficiently, securely, and in alignment with organizational objectives. The Enterprise Business Systems Lead manages the Enterprise Business Systems team, enters and tracks service requests, supports enterprise application operations, coordinates system integrations and automation efforts, creates and maintains the data management framework, and ensures effective internal and external communication, documentation, and collaboration across functional teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as the primary liaison between functional business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and recommend system solutions that support operational goals
  • Lead the support, configuration, and continuous improvement of enterprise business systems and applications, ensuring secure operation, system reliability, and alignment with organizational policies and compliance standards
  • Encourage and engage with Business Systems incident/request management, ensuring timely acknowledgement, communication, resolution tracking, and adherence to service level expectations
  • Coordinate system enhancements, integrations, and automation initiatives to improve business processes, operational efficiency, and data accessibility across enterprise platforms
  • Manage stakeholder communication by providing regular updates on system initiatives, addressing system issues, gathering user feedback, and guiding resolution strategies
  • Support enterprise data management and reporting through database queries, data analysis, and business intelligence tools to enable informed decision-making
  • Collaborate with Enterprise IT, Cybersecurity, and Quality teams to standardize system configurations, maintain documentation, and support governance frameworks including emerging technologies such as generative AI
  • Provide leadership in documentation, service desk workflows, user guidance, and operational processes to ensure consistent support and effective system utilization across the organization
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support enterprise system assets, infrastructure dependencies, and operational resources required for business system platforms
  • Assist in developing user guides, service desk workflows, templates, and support procedures
  • Lead workshops and working sessions to gather system requirements and develop solutions
  • Coordinate team coverage and project continuity through effective scheduling and leave coordination

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Current relevant IT Industry (minimum CompTIA Security+) and Environment certification(s) (Cloud+, MS Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA/MCSE), CCNA, Azure, and/or other relevant certifications) that meet DoD 8140 requirements
  • 8-10+ years of experience supporting enterprise business systems, enterprise applications, or IT service operations
  • Extensive experience implementing system integrations, workflow automation, and business intelligence tools
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications such as ERP (Deltek Costpoint preferred), HRIS (UKG preferred), EVM, workflow automation, and collaboration platforms
  • Experience with data warehouse and database management systems and the ability to run queries and analyze data (PowerBI preferred)
  • Experience with system testing, requirements gathering, and documentation
  • Knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity practices and compliance considerations
  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional IT teams including infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application development
  • Experience working with enterprise service desk platforms and IT service management (ITSM) processes
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and enterprise AI tools is preferred
