Job Description:

This is a full-time English Teacher position starting ASAP for a passionate educator ready to make an immediate impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role is not merely about following a curriculum. You will be a vital member of a forward-thinking faculty, contributing to a culture of educational excellence and ensuring that every student, regardless of their starting point, makes accelerated progress.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English lessons that cater to a wide range of learner abilities
  • Assess and record student progress using data-driven insights to inform future planning and interventions
  • Implement the school's "Positive Discipline" policy to maintain a focused and respectful learning environment
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, sharing resources and innovative ideas with colleagues
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations through rigorous practice, feedback, and targeted support
  • Foster a love for reading through the promotion of diverse texts and extracurricular literacy initiatives
  • Liaise with parents and guardians through reports and parents' evenings to provide transparent feedback on progress
  • Direct Teaching Assistants effectively within the classroom to support students with SEND or EAL requirements
  • Participate in faculty meetings and whole-school CPD to stay at the forefront of pedagogical research
  • Uphold the school's ethos, ensuring that the spiritual and moral development of students is woven into daily school life

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Solid understanding of current GCSE English Language and Literature assessment criteria
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
