Job Responsibility
Plan and deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students engage deeply with both modern and classical texts.
Support Year 11 cohorts as they prepare for their GCSE examinations, utilising data-driven interventions to build their confidence and boost attainment.
Differentiate lessons effectively to support a wide range of learning styles and abilities, providing scaffolding for lower-attaining students while stretching high-flyers.
Cultivate strong reading, analytical writing, and debate skills, helping students develop a clear and articulate voice.
Maintain the school's standards for timely marking, feedback, and progress tracking throughout the duration of the temporary contract.
Work closely with the English faculty to share resources, participate in moderation, and maintain a consistent learning experience for all pupils.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory. A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related discipline.
Exceptional classroom management skills, with the ability to quickly establish rapport and set high expectations with new classes.
A strong familiarity with the current UK National Curriculum and GCSE specifications (AQA, Edexcel, or Eduqas).
The flexibility to seamlessly integrate into a new school community and hit the ground running with a full-time teaching timetable.
An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
