Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English lessons that cater to a wide range of learner abilities
Assess and record student progress using data-driven insights to inform future planning and interventions
Implement the school's 'Positive Discipline' policy to maintain a focused and respectful learning environment
Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, sharing resources and innovative ideas with colleagues
Prepare students for GCSE examinations through rigorous practice, feedback, and targeted support
Foster a love for reading through the promotion of diverse texts and extracurricular literacy initiatives
Liaise with parents and guardians through reports and parent's evenings to provide transparent feedback on progress
Direct Teaching Assistants effectively within the classroom to support students with SEND or EAL requirements
Participate in faculty meetings and whole-school CPD to stay at the forefront of pedagogical research
Uphold the school's ethos, ensuring that the spiritual and moral development of students is woven into daily school life
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Solid understanding of current GCSE English Language and Literature assessment criteria
