Job Description

Randstad Education is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative English Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Croydon. We want a teacher who genuinely believes in the ability of all students to succeed and who can inspire a lifelong love for reading and literature.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 & 4, making complex texts accessible and fun for all learners
  • Focus on extending language and increasing vocabulary, using visual materials and sentence stems to support student progress
  • Identify students who may be falling behind and provide the extra support needed to build their confidence and academic success
  • Maintain a non-judgmental, encouraging classroom where students feel secure to make mistakes and learn at their own pace
  • Work as a strong team player, sharing best practices and contributing to the school's overall Working Together ethos

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A deep passion for English Language and Literature with the ability to lead a room with presence and authority
  • Excellent written and spoken English, acting as a role model for oracy and language use
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required (Randstad can assist with your application)
  • An honest, approachable educator who prioritizes child safety and follows all safeguarding and reporting protocols
