Job Description

St. George’s International School, located in Clarens on the shores of Lake Geneva, Switzerland, is a leading international school offering a broad and balanced education to students aged 3–18 within a diverse and multicultural community. We are currently seeking an English Teacher to join our Middle and Senior School. The successful candidate will teach one or more of the following programmes: A Level English Literature, IB English A or B, and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language). The role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progress and contributing to the wider life of the school. Full-time or part-time applications will be considered.

Job Responsibility

  • Teach A Level English Literature, IB English A/B and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language)
  • Be willing to teach an additional subject such as Global Perspectives or ToK
  • Deliver high-quality teaching that supports strong student progress and achievement
  • Maintain high expectations for students and contribute to a positive learning environment
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings and write student reports in line with school policies
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and teaching strategies
  • Provide class cover when necessary
  • Act as a positive role model and uphold school values and expectations
  • Contribute to the school community through tutoring and pastoral support
  • Work effectively in an international and multicultural environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience teaching A Level English Literature, IB English A/B and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language)
  • University degree and recognised teaching qualification
  • Strong understanding of English language curricula and ability to deliver engaging lessons
  • Excellent planning, assessment and feedback skills, with confidence using ICT in teaching
  • Ability to set clear expectations and support student progress and achievement
  • Experience teaching Middle and Senior School students (10–18 years)
  • Genuine commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding
  • Dynamic and adaptable professional with a commitment to continuous professional development
  • C2-level English proficiency (or native equivalent)
