St. George’s International School, located in Clarens on the shores of Lake Geneva, Switzerland, is a leading international school offering a broad and balanced education to students aged 3–18 within a diverse and multicultural community. We are currently seeking an English Teacher to join our Middle and Senior School. The successful candidate will teach one or more of the following programmes: A Level English Literature, IB English A or B, and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language). The role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progress and contributing to the wider life of the school. Full-time or part-time applications will be considered.
Job Responsibility:
Teach A Level English Literature, IB English A/B and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language)
Be willing to teach an additional subject such as Global Perspectives or ToK
Deliver high-quality teaching that supports strong student progress and achievement
Maintain high expectations for students and contribute to a positive learning environment
Attend parent-teacher meetings and write student reports in line with school policies
Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and teaching strategies
Provide class cover when necessary
Act as a positive role model and uphold school values and expectations
Contribute to the school community through tutoring and pastoral support
Work effectively in an international and multicultural environment
Requirements:
Proven experience teaching A Level English Literature, IB English A/B and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language)
University degree and recognised teaching qualification
Strong understanding of English language curricula and ability to deliver engaging lessons
Excellent planning, assessment and feedback skills, with confidence using ICT in teaching
Ability to set clear expectations and support student progress and achievement
Experience teaching Middle and Senior School students (10–18 years)
Genuine commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding
Dynamic and adaptable professional with a commitment to continuous professional development
C2-level English proficiency (or native equivalent)
