Job Description:

We are seeking a talented English Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in the seaside town of Southport. This school is known for its academic excellence and its commitment to staff well-being. Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver high-impact English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Lead classroom discussions on classic and contemporary literature
  • Simplify complex grammar and language concepts for all ability levels
  • Mark and assess student work with a focus on constructive growth
  • Prepare Year 11 students for their upcoming GCSE examinations
  • Manage classroom behaviour using the school's positive reinforcement policy
  • Design creative lesson plans that bring the curriculum to life
  • Maintain organised records of student achievement and attendance
  • Collaborate with the English department on shared resources

Requirements:

  • QTS/QTLS or a recognised UK teaching qualification
  • A Degree in English or a related subject
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
