Temporary Secondary English Teacher | Key Stage 3 & 4. Location: Plymouth. Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (Fixed-Term). Salary: Paid to Scale (MPS/UPS) for full-responsibilities roles | £130-£160 per day for no-planning options. Are you a highly motivated and qualified Secondary English Teacher seeking a rewarding, fixed-term opportunity? We are looking for an exceptional practitioner to join our successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Plymouth. This full-time, temporary post is ideal for a dedicated English professional ready to contribute fully to departmental success within Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).

Job Responsibility

  • Delivering high-quality, engaging English Language and Literature lessons
  • for full-scale roles, taking responsibility for planning, preparation, and detailed marking of all pupils' work
  • contributing to schemes of work
  • undertaking a form tutor role
  • actively participating in whole-school life

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • relevant degree in English (or a closely related field)
  • recent, demonstrable experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • passionate about English Literature and Language and committed to raising student attainment
  • strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements for English
  • fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
