The English Teacher is an essential member of the People & Culture team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our employees. The English Teacher prepare and provide grade-relevant learning activities that enable employees to learn the principles of the English language including the rules of grammar and syntax, to develop an understanding and appreciation of literature and to advance students' verbal and written communication abilities.
Job Responsibility:
Ensuring the learn proper grammar, writing, and reading comprehension
Responsible for creating lesson plans that will teach employees the skills they need
Answering employees’ questions, grading, tests and essays, tracking progress, and teaching the importance of English
Prepare instructional aids and supplemental teaching materials and resources consistent with learning objectives and employee needs
Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids and school supplies as needed
Deliver lessons using a variety of differentiated instructional techniques that are appropriate to the academic level and meet the diverse needs of students
Maximize the appropriate use of technology as an instructional tool
Teach grammar and syntax, vocabulary and word usage and other principles of the English language
Develop employees' verbal skills including reading out loud, discussion and debate
Encourage the development of critical thinking skills
Help employees to work independently and collaboratively in groups
Establish and maintain standards of employee behavior that conform to Four Seasons policies
Encourage student responsibility, cooperation, tolerance and mutual respect in a manner consistent with Four Seasons policies and procedures
Track and monitor employee learning using a variety of techniques
Prepare and administer assessments that are curriculum-aligned
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Undertake professional development activities to ensure continued professional growth and development of teaching skills
Requirements:
College degree preferably specializing in English teaching
Certified as an English teacher
Two to three years’ experience
Solid grounding in teaching
Ability to read and speak and write English and Spanish
Understand and familiar with quality standards and service standards of the hotel
Highest level of integrity and transparency
Apply an ethical approach to the outcome of situations
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams
