Job Responsibility:
Deliver engaging and inspiring English Literature and Language lessons that ignite a passion for reading and critical analysis
Develop and implement a knowledge-rich curriculum that introduces students to the 'best that has been thought and said,' from Shakespeare to contemporary voices
Collaborate effectively with a strong pastoral team to foster a culture of high expectations and personal growth
Maintain accurate records, assessments, and progress reports to ensure every student is on the path to linguistic mastery and academic success
Contribute to the development of the English department, sharing best practices in live modeling, essay structure, and vocabulary acquisition
Create a calm, positive, and purposeful classroom environment by consistently applying the academy's 'firm but fair' behavior policy
Utilise structured pedagogy and scaffolded support to build students' confidence in writing and oracy
Participate in the academy's vibrant community life, including literacy initiatives, debating clubs, and student enrichment
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification is held
A strong degree in English Literature, Language, or a related field is possessed
A passion for social mobility and a belief that every child can achieve greatness regardless of their background
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious environment where high standards are the norm

Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain a focused and respectful learning atmosphere
