We are seeking a Qualified SEN English Teacher to lead a specialist classroom in Foxton. The 'Team Around the Child': Direct a team of Teaching Assistants to deliver 1:1 literacy interventions and speech and language targets
EHCP Architecture: Align every lesson with Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, ensuring that 'Communication and Interaction' goals are met through the power of English
Alternative Assessment: Utilise progress trackers that celebrate non-traditional milestones, such as increased eye contact during a group read or the use of a new PECS icon to describe a character
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
SEN Expertise: Proven experience teaching English to students with complex needs or significant communication barriers
Adaptive Pedagogy: Deep knowledge of inclusive tools like Makaton, Colourful Semantics, or Widgit Symbols
