English Teacher £150 - £230 per day Thetford Are you an inspirational English Teacher with a genuine love for literature, language, and creative writing? You will be instrumental in nurturing our students' literacy skills, critical thinking, and confidence in expressing themselves.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and deliver stimulating English lessons that cover a broad range of literature, non-fiction texts, and creative writing for students in Years 7 to 11
  • Assess student work accurately and provide timely, constructive feedback to support their academic growth
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel confident to share their ideas and explore different perspectives
  • Work collaboratively with your colleagues in the English department to share resources, plan curriculum content, and contribute to departmental goals
  • Engage with the wider school community by participating in school events and extra-curricular activities related to English and literacy
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and well-being

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is a must
  • A degree in English or a closely related field
  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level, preparing students for GCSE exams
  • A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for English and a passion for your subject
  • The ability to adapt your teaching style to meet the diverse needs of all students
  • Effective classroom management skills and a proactive, encouraging approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a strong ability to work as part of a team
  • A Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
