Job Description

Are you passionate about helping learners develop the English skills they need to progress and succeed? We’re looking for a dedicated, engaging, and enthusiastic English Outreach Tutor to join our ESW team! If you’re committed to delivering high-quality English teaching, building learners’ confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, and supporting individuals to achieve their potential, we’d love to hear from you. We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Gower, our prison education provider at HMP Parc, working as an Essential Skills Wales Outreach Tutor in English. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, a relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
  • Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Have experience of creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
  • Have experience of achieving of quality targets
  • Have experience of producing accurate and timely reports
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to motivate and enthuse learners
  • Have excellent organisational skills to prioritise workload, and meet deadlines and targets
  • Commit to positive teamworking
