Job Responsibility

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3–5, including IGCSE and IB
  • Plan and implement a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum
  • Monitor and support student progress, ensuring all pupils reach their potential
  • Contribute to curriculum development, lesson planning, and departmental initiatives
  • Serve as a form tutor and support the pastoral development of students
  • Maintain accurate records and track student performance
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders
  • Participate in staff development, performance management, and school-wide initiatives
  • Support extracurricular English and literacy enrichment programmes

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant undergraduate degree
  • Successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally teaching English at IGCSE and IB levels
  • Understanding of effective teaching strategies and curriculum requirements across KS3–5
  • Ability to create an engaging, motivating, and safe learning environment
  • Strong organisational, planning, and ICT skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and develop positive relationships with staff and students
  • Commitment to raising student aspirations and supporting their holistic development
