Job Description:

English Editors support academic research by editing the language of peer-reviewed papers to publication standards.

Job Responsibility:

Edit scholarly articles spanning a wide array of subject matter submitted to MDPI’s journal to a publication-ready standard
Apply knowledge of the English language and the context of the manuscript to make the English clear, consistent, and grammatically correct, communicating the author’s message without changing their voice unnecessarily
Ensure manuscripts align with MDPI’s house rules
Meet tight deadlines and hit targets with a high degree of consistency
Take on additional roles, such as training colleagues within and outside of the department and editing corporate material

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in any subject
Expert knowledge of the English language
Experience in editing or translating
Excellent time management and organisation skills
High attention to detail
Ability to work remotely both independently and as part of an international team

Nice to have:

Professional experience in academic research or editing
A master’s, PhD, or equivalent qualification
Familiarity with LaTeX
Experience working in an office environment
