Job Description:

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Engineering Technician Specialist for the PST, supporting the Army Division. The Engineering Technician Specialist will support the U.S. Army Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) Technology Development Directorate (TDD) Energetic Materials Division (MPE) located on Redstone Arsenal, AL neighboring Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in the preparation of mixing ingredients using a variety of techniques including sampling ingredients for chemical analysis
  • Submit inventory adjustments into Ammunition Tracking System (AMCATS) and assist with error resolution and correction
  • With training and demonstrative proficiency, standard equipment operates such as mixers, ovens, vacuum pumps, process control instrumentation
  • Properly disposes of hazardous waste generated during ingredient preparation or mixing processes
  • Ensures environmental, health, and safety focus is maintained in explosive mixing operations
  • Wear and work with various PPE and be safety aware

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 0-5 Years of Experience
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience working with research, development, and processing Ammunition and Explosives (A&E)
  • Maintain the ability to achieve appropriate A&E certifications to include: AvMC A&E Handler certification, respirator certification, forklift certification, and Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
