The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Job Responsibility

  • Execute work assignments in MAXIMO or Solumina while maintaining the technical certifications and training to complete daily work assignments
  • Serve as a team member in various roles (Task Team Leader, facilitator, support technician, skilled helper)
  • Periodically provide task status to the Systems Engineer, Area Integrator (AI) and Management Staff
  • Ensure each job is carried out with a high level of quality while employing safety and clean as you go standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and technical training in the applicable area of expertise and eight years of related experience including experience directing other technicians
  • Must have a US driver's license
  • An AS Degree or higher in Aerospace Technologies or related experience working within the aerospace field is suggested
  • Applicable license: Air-frame & Power-plant (A&P) License
  • Directly related experience is considered as having worked on Solid Rocket Boosters, Core Stage Systems, or Rocket Engines (Assembly, Testing or Fueling for launch)
  • Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
  • Must comply with all drug free workplace requirements
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
