Job Description:

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician III located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Astrion has worked extensively with the Missile Propulsion Test Division where it has earned a reputation for on-time delivery of high-quality products tailored to the needs of its clients.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support mechanical operations in and around Test Stand/fixtures
  • Operate and maintain equipment for test support
  • Comprehend various test setups and lead the mechanical responsibilities while following applicable standard operating procedures
  • Operate forklifts from Class VII and below, mobile and overhead crane, and other similar equipment
  • Interface with Government customers, and other agency representatives
  • Some travel may be required

Requirements:

  • 5 years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization
  • or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 3 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area
  • At least 4 years of the 5 years’ experience must include successful completion of 1 year of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and a minimum of 2 years of mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance
  • Liquid-Propellant-Action-Response-Team (LPART) certified or the ability to obtain once hired
  • Have or obtain Class “A” CDL with hazmat endorsement
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once

Nice to have:

  • Industrial Maintenance/Mechanical A.A.S, or Aerospace Technology A.A.S preferred
  • Industrial pipe fitting experience a plus
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Experience working with engineers and senior management required
  • Exceptional customer relationship management highly desirable
