At Lam, as an Engineering Technician, you play a crucial role in supporting activities including design, test, modification, and assembly of electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, and specialized test equipment. Referencing schematics, diagrams, and descriptions, you conduct testing and troubleshooting. You'll perform fault isolation and assist in determining methods to remedy malfunctions. Your commitment to precision and problem-solving enhances Lam's engineering systems. In this role, you will directly contribute to the Metrology team in Tualatin under Global Product Operations.
Job Responsibility:
Provides metrology support for process group research and development activities
Manages wafer movements and metrology requests from an online job queue
Operates metrology tools with minimal direct supervision
Sets up metrology equipment and performs recipe adjustments within guidelines
Comprehends the accuracy of results and the implications of abnormal results
Delivers metrology results with a focus on maintaining data integrity
Documents and provides basic operational training to users of metrology tools
Runs SPC tests and tracks tool performance of metrology assets
Performs operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment
Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions
Supports Engineers in running detailed experiments and providing written pass-down
Interfaces with vendor Field Service Engineers to provide support and troubleshooting ensuring timely solutions and minimal downtime
Requirements:
Must meet one of the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a science or related field
Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment (bunny suit, safety glasses, masks, gloves)
Flexibility to provide on-call coverage for weekends or compressed work schedules
Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in a science or related field
Prior operation experience of XPS tool
Prior semiconductor experience is preferred
Programing/scripting experience
Strong team player and creative problem solver
Self-driven, highly organized, and demonstrates strong attention to detail
Capability to deal with a fast-paced, customer service-oriented mindset
Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
