Are you an experienced engineering leader ready to take ownership of a pivotal manufacturing operation? Randstad is currently seeking an Engineering & Technical Manager to join a major manufacturing facility in Hobart. This leading agri-business has been a cornerstone of the Australian agriculture industry for over five decades. Their Hobart manufacturing site is a high impact operation that integrates production, blending, and distribution services to support a vast network of Australia wide dealers and growers. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will be the primary interface for complex technical operations and a dedicated team of engineering and maintenance professionals. You will be the person who takes complex engineering challenges and turns them into actionable plans to continue the growth and success of the business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Implement engineering strategies and projects that align with overarching business objectives
  • Serve as the primary interface between engineering teams, corporate departments (such as Finance and IT) and external organisations
  • Utilise systems like SAP and Microsoft Office to monitor production quality, maintenance, budgetary and HR requirements
  • Set clear goals, manage team performance and ensure maximum engineering performance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 year’s experience in a similar management role within the manufacturing industry
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering specifications to operational requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in astute decision making, problem solving and leading teams
