Job Description

Are you an experienced multi-skilled engineer ready to step up into a leadership role? This is a great opportunity for a technically capable engineer who enjoys working hands-on but also has the skills to lead and inspire a team. You'll join a business investing heavily in its future, playing a key role in maintaining and improving site operations. Working a 4 on/4 off night shift pattern, you will lead a small engineering team while still being directly involved in maintenance work. You'll be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement, and supporting production to meet operational targets.

Job Responsibility

  • Leading and supporting a team of multi-skilled engineers to deliver maintenance and improvement tasks effectively
  • Carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance in line with safety, quality, and company standards
  • Overseeing breakdown response, ensuring timely fault diagnosis and repairs to minimise downtime
  • Maintaining and improving planned preventative maintenance schedules and documentation
  • Supporting production teams with machinery-related issues and providing technical guidance
  • Assisting with contractor management, site audits, and ensuring compliance with H&S and hygiene requirements
  • Contributing to site improvement projects and helping implement engineering strategies

Requirements

  • Apprentice-trained, multi-skilled engineer with a mechanical or electrical bias
  • Relevant engineering qualifications
  • Proven experience in a food, FMCG, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
