Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Shift Manager on a permanent basis working 4 on / 4 off days and nights. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and as part of the junior management team, you will be constantly driving change within your team as well as focusing on improving manufacturing processes/efficiency throughout the whole site.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Engineering Manager in the efficient running of the department
  • Development of the engineers within your team
  • Provide additional hands-on support when required in maintaining and repairing equipment
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with site health & safety procedures and current legislation
  • Ensure Planned Maintenance work is completed in line with system timeline
  • Resolve engineering issues throughout your team – Grievance/Absence/Disciplinary
  • Control of contractors and Issuing of applicable permit to work
  • Supplier call out
  • Holiday control
  • Promote working relations between engineering and all other departments to help drive improvements and deliver the site KPI’s
  • Promote/encourage continuous improvement, lean and 5s within the team
  • Ensure all duties carried out with due regard to policies and procedures of company
  • Adhere to the company’s H&S policies and procedures
  • Adhere to the company’s Hygiene policies and procedures
