We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-caliber team of backend engineers working on our core infrastructure - including distributed systems, low-latency stream processing, and data storage at scale. You’ll be responsible for managing engineers building mission-critical services, such as our Kafka ingestion platform, ClickHouse data layer, and event-driven workflow engine. It’s the core of the product. You’ll work closely with cross-functional leads in product, infrastructure, and AI to help define technical strategy, drive execution, and grow our engineering culture. You’ll have to co-ordinate and work with people in North America.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and grow a team of backend engineers working on core systems including Kafka pipelines, workflow orchestration, and real-time data platforms
Guide technical design and architecture decisions for systems handling millions of events daily with high availability and low latency
Partner with product and engineering leadership to define roadmaps, set priorities, and deliver on customer-facing features and internal platform capabilities
Create a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and rapid iteration
Support team members in their growth through mentoring, feedback, and career development
Requirements:
3+ years of experience managing high-performing backend or platform teams
7+ years of hands-on backend experience working on large scale, low latency distributed systems, event streaming, databases, and cloud infrastructure
Strong technical background - ideally familiar with technologies like Kafka, ClickHouse, Postgres, Redis, and Flink
Experience managing teams working in Java, or similar backend languages
Track record of leading complex technical projects and collaborating cross-functionally with product and infra
Comfortable in high-growth, fast-paced environments with lots of ambiguity and autonomy
