Job Description

Team Lead for Financial Products, building, mentoring, and coaching a diverse, talented team focused on the Balance Accounts team, who own the technology behind our Issuing and Adyen for Platforms products. Streamline the team's engineering operations, refine product requirements together with product and merchants, and encourage effective collaboration. A critical role in the continued success of our fast-paced organization, helping to iterate our culture and build an amazing team environment that will create future leaders for Adyen.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, data engineers, engineers and other key stakeholders within Financial Products
  • Structure and provide coaching in areas including but not limited to: engineering best practices, scalable architecture design, product roadmap discussions
  • Maintain an inclusive team culture focused on autonomy, ownership, collaboration, communication, and impact
  • Collaborate with different teams to design and implement new services with reliability & scalability in mind
  • Set clear individual and team goals that align with our strategic engineering ambitions in close collaboration with the product manager
  • Create an inspiring and collaborative team environment with an open communication/feedback culture
  • Recruit new team members in line with the Adyen culture and required skills

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in people management responsibilities and a proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams
  • strong foundation and at least 7 years in software engineering, with deep system design skills and hands-on experience in technologies such as Java, Postgres, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Redis
  • think strategically, able to connect business goals with technical execution, and design systems that scale with the company
  • clear communicator and influencer in English, comfortable navigating cross-functional dynamics and driving alignment
  • proactive and self-driven, with a natural ability to identify what needs to be done, even in unstructured environments, through collaboration and critical thinking
  • energized by complexity and curious about the mechanics of financial systems
