Job Responsibility

  • Manning allocation, development and hiring of design resources in collaboration with the Discipline Managers
  • Continual development of design processes and procedures
  • Delegation of all projects of Project Design Managers
  • Maintenance and development of client relationships
  • Ensure compliance of design products with the design procedure
  • Ensure design managers are following established project plans and procedures
  • Ensure design products comply with applicable legislation, standards, client, third party and project requirements
  • Ensure designs are fit for purpose and consider all aspects including cost, constructability, operability and maintainability
  • Ensure design products are delivered in accordance with the project schedule and budget

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 15+ years' experience in minerals processing design
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of Design professionals
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
  • Detailed understanding of multi-discipline design delivery within the minerals processing sector
  • Solid understanding of statutory and industry regulations and HSE practices
  • Knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles, and practices
  • Advanced level of expertise with engineering technical detail
  • Demonstrated planning and organisation skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to continued professional development
  • Strong work ethic
