Job Responsibility
Provide technical and managerial leadership across the Mechanical group
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers and designers
Manage workloads, project assignments, performance reviews, and professional development
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-accountability team culture
Provide technical guidance on mechanical system design for a wide range of buildings and infrastructure
Review and stamp mechanical drawings, specifications, and reports
Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Oversee mechanical project delivery from concept to completion
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution
Conduct on-site visits, surveys, and condition assessments as required
Build strong relationships with clients, municipalities, and partner firms
Participate in project meetings, presentations, and proposal development
Support business development initiatives and help identify new opportunities
Contribute to department planning, budgeting, and quality control initiatives
Support long-term succession planning, including future partnership opportunities
Help drive innovation, continuous improvement, and best practices within the mechanical group.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and P.Eng. designation
7–10+ years of mechanical design experience in building systems (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection)
Prior experience leading teams, projects, or junior staff in a consulting engineering environment
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu
Strong working knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and industry best practices
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for site work.
