The Engineering Manager supports both the Director and Assistant Director of Engineering in overseeing all aspects of hotel and building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, fire and safety systems, and general repairs. This role ensures efficient, professional responses to maintenance needs and guest inquiries, while maintaining compliance with Four Seasons' policies to uphold safety standards and maximize customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibility
Be part of the pre-opening team
Assist in hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating the performance of the maintenance staff, including conducting spot checks on a daily basis
Ensure the effective execution of the work order and request system, following up on items as necessary to maintain operational efficiency
Prepare requisitions for purchases and work orders, and collaborate effectively with the Director of Purchasing to meet operational needs
Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules and policies to ensure smooth department operations and asset longevity
Maintain logs on the movement of stock items and tools, and oversee the distribution of these resources to ensure proper inventory management
Actively support and contribute to the Safety Committee to ensure a safe work environment
Assist in supporting the energy conservation program to help the hotel meet its annual budget and sustainability goals
Maintain close working relationships with hotel contractors who provide reliable 24-hour emergency services for the property
Assist with the maintenance and inspection of all firefighting equipment, ensuring it is in first-class order and that emergency procedures are understood and practiced by hotel staff
Attend all required meetings

Requirements
Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
College degree or equivalent experience
Minimum two to three years experience in a related position, preferably in a luxury hotel environment
Strong computer and math skills required
Proficient in the use of a personal computer and various software programs including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, PCC, contract software, and ACT!
Ability to read, write, and speak English
The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day, and scheduled days and times may vary based on need
Occasional travel for trainings, events, and/or conferences
