Amentum is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team Down Under! The Engineering Manager leads multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for the delivery of engineering, technical, asset management, and infrastructure support services within a complex 24/7 operational environment.
Job Responsibility
Lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering and technical teams supporting facility infrastructure, operational systems, asset management, integration activities, and engineering support services
Provide strategic and operational leadership across engineering service delivery to ensure infrastructure reliability, system performance, operational continuity, and compliance requirements are achieved
Oversee the planning, coordination, prioritisation, and delivery of engineering projects, infrastructure upgrades, system modifications, and recapitalization activities across a diverse facilities portfolio
Manage engineering governance activities including technical review, engineering assurance, standards compliance, risk management, and design oversight across multiple engineering disciplines
Coordinate engineering support for facility infrastructure, operational systems, and technical improvement initiatives within a live 24/7 operational environment
Lead infrastructure lifecycle management activities including asset planning, condition assessments, maintenance strategies, reliability improvement initiatives, and long-term infrastructure sustainability planning
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, operational teams, technical specialists, and external service providers to support engineering outcomes, operational requirements, and infrastructure priorities
Oversee engineering resource planning, workload management, technical capability development, mentoring, and performance management across engineering and technical teams
Support the development of budgets, ROM estimates, infrastructure planning strategies, and engineering project forecasting activities
Promote and maintain a strong safety, quality, and compliance culture across all engineering and technical activities
Ensure engineering activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory, contractual, environmental, safety, and organizational requirements
Perform other reasonable duties as required
Requirements
Excellent communication and negotiation skills and working knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and integrated software applications
Knowledge of various subcontract types (Cost-Plus, Fixed Price, Time & Materials, and subsets thereof)
TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance with Polygraph
Bachelor’s Degree Engineering or other related discipline
Minimum seven (7) years’ experience supporting engineering, infrastructure, facilities, or operational programs of similar size, scope, and complexity
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a senior engineering leadership or project management role supervising engineers, technical specialists, contractors, or multidisciplinary technical teams
Demonstrated experience managing complex engineering activities within a 24/7 operational environment requiring coordination with operational stakeholders
Demonstrated experience overseeing engineering project delivery, infrastructure upgrades, system modifications, and recapitalisation activities across large or technically complex facilities portfolios
Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar engineering or infrastructure project portfolios, including resource allocation, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery oversight
Demonstrated experience in engineering governance activities including technical review, design oversight, standards compliance, engineering assurance, and risk management
Demonstrated experience working across multidisciplinary engineering environments including electrical, mechanical, civil, controls, telecommunications, integration, asset management, or operational infrastructure systems
Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership, communication, and team management skills
Professional Engineer (PE) license

At least 18 years of age
Able to fluently read, write and speak English

Experience within remote, high-security, defence, government, critical infrastructure, data centre, industrial, or operational facilities environments
Experience supporting live operational facilities where engineering activities must be coordinated around ongoing operations
Experience with facilities operation and maintenance programs
Experience with power generation and distribution systems, load management, building management systems, or data centre infrastructure
Experience leading geographically or technically diverse engineering teams
Postgraduate Degree Engineering or related discipline
Project Management Professional (PMP)
