Job Description:

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Services team. This team is at the core of our platform enablement function, ensuring all Procurify teams are able to deliver with high velocity and quality, with the best tools. In this role, you’ll manage a team of software engineers and serve as a technical leader within the team’s technical domains. You’ll work closely with the Head of Engineering to grow technical leadership and further develop a highly engaged, high-performing team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead & Mentor: Manage a team of 3–6 full stack software engineers, providing coaching for technical excellence, fostering individual career growth, and nurturing a culture of trust and deep collaboration
  • Drive Velocity: Lead your team to deliver consistently against ambitious goals. You'll define success metrics, track progress transparently, and communicate proactively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and celebrate wins
  • Own a Complex Domain: Own the vision and execution of tools and platforms that accelerate engineering and operational workflows across Procurify. Ensure designs are architecturally sound, scalable, secure, and align with our established patterns
  • Evolve our Architecture: Support engineering-wide initiatives to evolve our Python/Django monolith towards a more modular, testable, and maintainable architecture that can support the scale and complexity of modern financial products
  • Develop Future Leaders: Mentor senior engineers and team leads, actively supporting the growth of the next generation of engineering leaders at the company
  • Collaborate Broadly: Work with partners across the organization—including our DevSecOps, Product , and Data teams—to deliver robust, high-quality, and compliant software solutions

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • At least 3 years in a direct people management role
  • Proven experience building scalable platforms and tools that streamline workflows and empower engineering and operational teams
  • Experience building scalable, customer-facing SaaS products using modern technologies (Python/Django, TypeScript/React, AWS, Kubernetes)
  • Deep understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases (Databricks/pgVector), and agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, Google ADK, or similar)
  • Strong experience with software design principles and patterns
  • Experience working with legacy codebases
  • Strong knowledge of agile development practices, CI/CD, test automation, and building for observability
  • A self-driven, accountable leader who thrives in an autonomous, fast-paced environment and leads with empathy, compassion, and a people-first approach
  • Excel at communicating complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Maintains a professional and current LinkedIn profile, ensuring it is updated upon joining Procurify

Nice to have:

  • Experience with model fine-tuning, RLHF, or custom model training
  • Knowledge of frontend frameworks (React) for full-stack contributions
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, tools and metrics (MLflow, Precision & Recall, etc.)
  • Background in specific domains like NLP, multi-modal LLM, or document processing
  • Open-source contributions or technical writing/speaking experience
  • Experience with real-time AI systems or streaming data architectures
