Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Monetization platform team to reimagine Vanta’s customer lifecycle infrastructure by unifying entitlement management, usage tracking, and billing into a cohesive platform. These systems form the critical foundation for how customers purchase, access, and manage Vanta's products. This role offers the unique opportunity to build systems that directly impact Vanta's growth trajectory while solving technically interesting distributed systems problems at the intersection of product, finance, and sales.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead, grow and mentor a talented team of backend and full-stack engineers building our core monetization systems
  • Define and execute technical strategy for a unified monetization platform that integrates seamlessly with Finance and GTM Ops, supports multiple sales models (self-serve, direct enterprise, and partner-driven) and establishes shared best practices in data modeling, distributed systems design, and developer experience
  • Platformize entitlements, purchasing and billing—enabling other product teams to manage customer access and pricing logic through scalable, well-defined APIs and reusable UX components
  • Champion operational excellence, promoting strong engineering practices, sustainable delivery, and high reliability as the team scales

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing and scaling technical teams of six or more engineers
  • Proven success leading teams that build and scale backend or platform systems in transaction-heavy domains
  • Have a track record of guiding product and long term technical strategy
  • Be a strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality
