Job Description

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a core security engineering team that operates at the intersection of infrastructure and developer experience — where your team’s code becomes the secure foundation for all of engineering. The team addresses systemic security vulnerabilities through standardised frameworks, libraries and infrastructure used by every engineering team in the company. This work is essential for ensuring platform availability, securing our license to operate in key markets, and keeping our customers’ data strictly private.

Job Responsibility

  • Organising the team’s work, improving processes and collaboration, and ensuring high quality of deliverables
  • Driving technical excellence, reliability, and adoption of Bolt’s core security frameworks, libraries, and infrastructure—the central mechanisms for eradicating systemic vulnerabilities company-wide
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders across teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Holding regular one-to-ones, coaching, and mentoring engineers to support their growth
  • Preparing performance reviews, goal setting, training plans, budget allocation, headcount planning, and actively participating in recruitment
  • Contributing to planning, roadmap discussions, and providing constructive feedback on future initiatives

Requirements

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable with modern programming languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Scala, or Java
  • Strong experience building scalable backend architecture, core infrastructure, or developer tooling
  • Genuine interest in cybersecurity and secure software design
  • Direct experience implementing security frameworks, libraries, or compliance projects is a strong plus
  • Successfully built or managed internal platforms, libraries, frameworks, tooling, or large-scale projects requiring cross-team alignment
  • 5+ years of hands-on software development experience and a deep understanding of writing readable, testable, maintainable, and performant code
  • Proven ability to get things done, set a clear technical vision, establish effective engineering processes, and make data-driven decisions
  • At Bolt, using AI daily is a baseline expectation for everyone

Nice to have

Direct experience implementing security frameworks, libraries, or compliance projects is a strong plus

What we offer

  • Rewarding salary and stock option package
  • Flexibility of working in a hybrid mode with a minimum of 2 days in the office each week
  • Wellness perks for physical and mental health
