Job Description:

We are looking for a Manager for our In-Person-Payments Tooling team. The team is based in Chicago, you will be guiding the vision and execution for the CI/CD Engineering aspect ensuring smooth and efficient software development and deployment processes. As a Team Lead, your primary focus is to create and enable a high performing platform engineering team. You will oversee the development of tools and applications that manage the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for our Android and iOS applications. You will ensure your team successfully collaborates with the infrastructure teams, handling Kubernetes clusters to provide an elevated SDLC experience for the entire organization. You will also stay close to your users and deliver the most impactful initiatives for their developer experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead a team of DevOps and Infrastructure Engineers in designing and implementing high-performance CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Gradle, KMP, and Develocity
  • Define the roadmap for automating build processes, caching optimizations, and security scanning
  • Actively coach engineers in troubleshooting complex build failures and developing an automation-first mindset
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between mobile developers and infrastructure teams to ensure tooling health, monitoring, and alerting are seamlessly integrated
  • Champion quality-focused initiatives, ensuring the CI/CD pipeline remains the organization's first line of defense for code stability
  • Guide the vision and execution for the CI/CD Engineering aspect ensuring smooth and efficient software development and deployment processes
  • Create and enable a high performing platform engineering team
  • Oversee the development of tools and applications that manage the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for our Android and iOS applications
  • Ensure your team successfully collaborates with the infrastructure teams, handling Kubernetes clusters to provide an elevated SDLC experience for the entire organization

Requirements:

  • Proven track record (3+ years) as a Technical Manager or Team Lead
  • Experience managing performance, fostering career growth, and maintaining team velocity
  • Comfortable working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
  • Understanding of the requirements of a private cloud environment

Nice to have:

  • Mobile Development Background with experience with Android (Gradle/Kotlin) or iOS (Xcode/Swift) ecosystems
  • Deep CI/CD Knowledge with hands-on history with GitLab CI, Jenkins, Temporal
  • Systems Proficiency with an understanding of Linux systems administration (process management and resource allocation)
