Job Description

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in turning Satispay into the financial home of every Italian business.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and grow a Business-oriented team: own the day-to-day of a team of 5–8 engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Drive the delivery of ambitious projects: translate product and business goals into a clear technical roadmap, and ensure the team executes on it reliably and predictably
  • Collaborate across domains: work closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to align on dependencies, priorities, and shared standards
  • Hire and develop talent: participate in recruiting to grow the team, and actively invest in the growth of individual engineers through feedback, mentorship, and stretch opportunities
  • Report up and communicate clearly: keep leadership informed on progress, risks, and blockers, translating technical complexity into business-relevant terms

Requirements

  • Engineering Leadership Experience: 5+ years in backend engineering, with at least 2 in a team lead or tech lead role managing a squad in a product-driven environment
  • Backend Expertise: strong command of distributed systems and API design, with a track record of delivering robust, scalable services in a high-growth or regulated industry
  • Proven Delivery Ownership: demonstrated ability to own end-to-end delivery of complex features, from technical scoping and planning to production rollout, balancing speed with quality
  • Clear and Effective Communication in English: comfortable engaging with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
  • able to represent your team's work to leadership and translate business needs into technical direction
  • Passion for Fintech and Financial Products: genuine interest in how technology is reshaping the way businesses manage money, with an appreciation for the responsibility that comes with building in a regulated, high-trust environment
