Job Description

As an Engineering Manager on our Speak for Business (S4B) team, you will lead the initiatives that build and scale our B2B product offerings for global organizations. You’ll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Design, Sales, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact solutions for our business customers. You will manage a team of engineers, guide the technical strategy for a variety of platforms—including our mobile app, L&D web portal, and custom integrations—and help shape a product used by millions of learners worldwide.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the engineering strategy and execution for the S4B roadmap, delivering features and infrastructure that serve our business clients
  • Oversee the development of Speak's B2B offering across all surfaces, including our core mobile app, the web-based L&D portal, and custom solutions for enterprise customers
  • Guide and mentor a team of high-performing engineers, fostering their technical and career development
  • Partner with Product and Design to understand the complex needs of global B2B customers and help the team navigate technical trade-offs and priorities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on developing and integrating AI-powered features, such as our assessment tools
  • Direct the technical implementation of custom integrations with third-party systems, including HRIS/HR platforms, to ensure seamless customer onboarding and data management
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and data teams to ensure our B2B platforms are robust, scalable, and secure

Requirements

  • 7+ years of industry experience
  • 2+ years in an engineering leadership role
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in full-stack development and familiarity in our stack (TypeScript, React, Node.js, Postgres, Big Query)
  • Experience building and scaling products for B2B or enterprise customers, preferably on a global scale
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor high-performing engineering teams, providing clear direction and support
  • Strong product intuition and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and other cross-functional partners
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
