Job Description:

This team sits at the heart of Zip’s Agentic Orchestration and AI strategy. The platform enables Zip to build and scale integrations and AI agents used by our 600+ customers. We’re looking for an experienced, product-minded Engineering Manager who is passionate about building scalable platforms and delivering with innovative, high-quality AI-powered user experiences. As the Engineering Manager for App Studio and Marketplace, you will own the strategy and execution of a platform that: Enables Zip teams to rapidly build and evolve complex AI-driven workflows; Empowers customers and partners to create, customize, and deploy AI-powered agents and integrations; Establishes Zip’s Marketplace and AI-augmented workflow platform as a core product differentiator for enterprise customers. You will work closely with Product, Design, Technical Solutions Consulting, Implementation Partners, and GTM leadership to deliver an enterprise-grade, extensible, and AI-native platform.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and grow a team of 10+ engineers, scaling to 20+ as the product and organization grows
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and other engineering counterparts to define strategy, roadmap, and execution plans
  • Build a workflow platform that supports the creation of advanced, AI super agents
  • Build a robust team by attracting and hiring top talent
  • coach and grow individuals at all levels
  • Design and implement processes that enable the team to scale effectively while maintaining speed and agility
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership on multiple fronts (architecture / design, code reviews, quality assurance, and incident management) as well as set long-term technical visions and goals for the team
  • Be responsible for ensuring enterprise-grade correctness, resiliency, availability, and scalability
  • Own and drive execution against clear objectives with measurable key results
  • Promote a strong culture of engineering excellence and customer focus

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 4+ years of experience managing and leading technical teams
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g. Physics or Math)
  • Proven track record of successfully launching multiple complex products or systems
  • Demonstrated success in hiring, retaining, and developing high-performing engineering teams
  • Ability to lead in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and drive complex operational initiatives
  • Strong product intuition and a passion for building consumer-grade user experiences

Nice to have:

  • Experience building and scaling SaaS or FinTech products, particularly in enterprise environments
  • Proven experience taking a product or platform from early-stage (1) to broad adoption (100+)
  • Background in building platforms that serve multiple internal and external functions, such as product engineering teams, Solutions Consultants, and customers
  • Experience working in a high-growth, smaller company environments, with comfort operating across a wide scope and owning outcomes end-to-end
