Job Description:

The Genius Sports Ad-Tech Engineering Team is looking for a smart, talented, and experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining our Advertising platforms to support our supply and demand teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the design, build, and maintenance of our Programmatic Curation Platform, focusing on usability, scalable web services and APIs
  • Drive the architectural strategy and development of scalable, modern web applications that are core to our Advertising offering
  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver robust application solutions
  • Manage and modernize the existing suite of production applications for Demand Optimization, Campaign Management, and Data Collection processes ensuring exceptional performance, reliability, and revenue delivery
  • Establish and maintain robust end-to-end monitoring, alerting, and logging capabilities for all customer facing Advertising applications and services
  • Oversee system stability, scaling, and operational excellence, ensuring adherence to defined best practices and Genius Sports internal security/privacy standards
  • Build, coach and lead a team of high-performing, passionate, full-stack engineers, able to execute quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Bring an ownership mindset to the table. Enable a team-first culture, where teams feel secure to iterate, fail and learn rapidly with accountability
  • Ensure the team has the right resources, skills and time, managing stakeholders effectively to ensure that we can build a high-quality advertising platforms to support the organization

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with a focus on high-volume, public-facing web applications or platforms
  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams and building great engineering cultures
  • 3+ years of experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or digital media technology companies
  • Experience with conceptualization, design, and implementation of new and existing distributed application systems, middleware, and production architectures
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Strong understanding of Javascript, Typescript and front end technologies like React and NextJS
  • Strong understanding of at least one object-oriented programming language (Rust, Java, Kotlin, Python) and the ability to effectively build production-ready code for higher-complexity tasks
