The ENGINEERING INTERN role within the organization will assist with water projects including water storage tank, pump station, and water treatment improvements The role will entail data collection and analysis, engineering drawing and specification reviews, and assistance with scoping and contracting capital projects. The successful candidate will collaborate across several groups (engineering, water quality, operations, maintenance, procurement etc.) and will continuously support the team to ensure project efficiency, technical accuracy, and compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements
Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility
May assist in research or special projects in a variety of engineering projects including water storage tanks, pump stations, and water treatment to meet business objectives
May be asked to prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analyses
Produces findings and draws conclusions from analyses. Makes oral and written recommendations to management
Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with established policies, standards, and objectives
establish and/or update engineering standards and specifications as needed
Work with senior engineers to ensure projects meet design specifications and are completed on time and within budget
Perform other duties as required by management
Comply with all Veolia Company and HSE procedures and policies
Periodic field visits throughout Bergen, Sussex, and Passaic County will be required
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED is required
Working towards a four-year degree and you have fall 2026 Junior or Senior status in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
3.2 Cumulative G.P.A required
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships
