Job Description:

The Low Voltage Infrastructure Team drives the development of systems and controls for on-vehicle low voltage power generation, energy storage, power management, distribution, and consumption control. There’s never been a more exciting time to join us as we shape the next generation of low voltage architectures and innovative consumption control strategies! As an Engineering Group Manager for the Low Voltage Infrastructure Quality, Prognostics, and Diagnostics team, you’ll lead engineers who develop and test diagnostic and prognostic algorithms for low voltage systems, as well as analyze warranty and implement corrective actions to improve 12V quality. This team partners across many organizations to deliver solutions and directly influences product quality, customer satisfaction, and reliability for the entire GM portfolio. This is an assignment where leadership, creativity, initiative, analytical thinking, deep customer insight, and exceptional collaboration are crucial and celebrated!

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead a team of engineers responsible for requirements, design, analysis and testing of low voltage diagnostics and prognostics, as well as monitoring for and resolution of issues impacting low voltage quality
  • Own the diagnostic, prognostic, and quality strategy for LV systems, ensuring robust fault detection, early issue identification, and actionable insights for both in-vehicle and cloud-based analytics
  • Drive cross-functional problem solving with software, hardware, customer experience, and quality organizations to improve reliability and reduce 12V related warranty
  • Guide the development of effective warranty and field-data monitoring techniques, translating patterns and insights into prioritized corrective actions
  • Create a healthy and collaborative team environment: removing obstacles, enabling flow, and fostering continuous improvement
  • Mentor and develop engineers at all levels through coaching, career planning, and ongoing feedback that accelerates growth
  • Set clear objectives, measure performance, and hold team members accountable to high technical and behavioral standards
  • Plan resources, prioritize workload and align team capacity with objectives
  • Communicate status, strategies, insights and risks effectively to program teams and executive leaders
  • Evolve standard work: Refine existing processes or invent new ones that strengthen diagnostic, prognostic, and quality workflows
  • Model and foster GM’s Core Values and Winning behaviors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 7+ years of engineering experience related to on-board diagnostic design, calibration, embedded controls, data analytics, warranty analysis, and/or complex automotive system development
  • Strong data analysis skills, natural curiosity, and investigative mindset with the ability to turn large‑scale fleet data into actionable insights that drive measurable quality improvements
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and relationship building skills, with a proven ability to align objectives, manage dependencies, and negotiate priorities across diverse teams
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity while making sound, timely decisions and driving meaningful action
  • Proven experience creating and executing plans that align with long-term business strategy, product needs, and enterprise-wide goals
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results across multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and establishing new, more effective ways of working

Nice to have:

  • Master's degree in Engineering with a focus on Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Systems Engineering
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration
  • 2+ years of direct or indirect leadership of technical teams
  • Experience with low voltage systems, power management, and ECU activation strategies
  • Hands-on experience with service diagnostics, warranty investigation, or field issue triage
  • Experience applying statistical methods or predictive modeling to engineering problems
  • Working knowledge of automotive on-board diagnostic design, regulations, and best practices
What we offer:
  • Paid time off including vacation days, holidays, and supplemental benefits for pregnancy, parental and adoption leave
  • Healthcare, dental and vision benefits including health care spending account and wellness incentive
  • Life insurance plans to cover you and your family
  • Company and matching contributions to a Defined Contribution Pension plan to help you save for retirement
  • GM Vehicle Purchase Plan for you, your family, and friends
