The job holder will be responsible, on behalf of the UK Engineering Data Governance and Digital Solution Manager, for ensuring that Engineering offload resource capacity is aligned with the business resource demand signal. The role requires very strong analytical capabilities and close collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with Projects, the SOP team, Engineering Heads of Departments, Capability/Programme Leads, Engineering Business Control, Engineering Planning, Indirect Procurement, and Programme Management.
Job Responsibility:
Analyse the Engineering demand signal and resource capacity to identify under-resourced or over-resourced technical areas
Act as the interface between Engineering teams and the external resource supplier to ensure resource levels remain aligned with engineering demand
Ensure that the demand signal provided by Programme Management (via the SOP team) is robust, clearly articulated at work centre level, and understood by work centre managers
Support cost centre managers in developing robust, timely, and cost-effective strategies to respond to the engineering resource demand signal
Conduct demand and project reviews, highlighting actions or recommendations to the appropriate business areas
Participate independently in weekly/ monthly Capacity Review meetings to identify where resource offload or reallocation is required
Manage and produce reports, proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues, and initiating corrective actions to ensure delivery within quality, schedule, and budget targets
Manage relationships and governance related to the strategic partnering agreement with Morson Projects
Ensure compliance with the KPIs and SLAs defined in the strategic partnering agreement through ongoing assessment and continuous process improvement
Challenge Engineering resource managers to consider candidates that represent a realistic fit to the requirement and support efficient recruitment decisions
Report progress of the demand signal and resource capacity alignment regularly to management and the supplier
Requirements:
A relevant degree, HNC, A-Level/BTEC qualification, or equivalent technical experience
Knowledge of systems such as SAP, and Andromeda related to resource demand management would be desirable
Advanced Power BI or Microsoft Access knowledge
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Very strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and identify trends, risks, and capacity gaps
Advanced data analysis and reporting skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
Ability to collect, analyse and present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with internal teams and external suppliers
Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions
