We are seeking an experienced Engineering Change Control Board (ECCB) Engineer to support a major rail infrastructure project in Sydney. This role is responsible for managing and controlling engineering changes to ensure safety, compliance, and technical integrity across railway systems.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and administer the ECCB and engineering change process
Receive, assess, track, and close Engineering Change Requests/Proposals
Coordinate and chair ECCB meetings and support risk-based decision-making
Review engineering changes across signalling, rolling stock, power, track & civil, telecoms, and integrated systems
Assess impacts on safety, RAMS, operations, and life-cycle cost
Ensure compliance with rail safety standards, regulatory requirements, and RAMS
Coordinate safety assessments and interface with Safety Assurance and ISA
Maintain configuration control, documentation, and end-to-end change traceability
Liaise with engineering, operations, maintenance, projects, contractors, and suppliers
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Railway Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum 3 year’s experience in current rail, metro, or major infrastructure projects in Sydney
Proven experience in engineering change management and/or configuration management
Experience with safety-critical systems highly regarded
Strong knowledge of RAMS and relevant EN/IEC rail standards
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
Ability to work effectively in complex, multidisciplinary environments
