Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and organised site-based Group Buyer to join our Purchasing team. Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring we source the right materials, equipment, and services to support our operations and projects across the business.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as the main purchasing contact for engineering and operational teams
  • Manage purchase requisitions and ensure timely, accurate ordering
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, monitoring quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Prepare RFQs and tender documents, supporting cost analysis and supplier selection
  • Drive cost‑reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for improved sourcing and standardisation
  • Evaluate costs, quality, and suitability of suppliers, materials, and equipment
  • select and support the development of suitable vendors
  • Maintain compliance with procurement policies and promote safe working practices

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ procurement experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier‑management skills
  • High level of numerical accuracy and analytical ability
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Maximo essential
  • CIPS qualification (or studying toward it) is desirable

  • Logistics and compliance (manufacturing environment) is desirable
