We are looking for a proactive and organised site-based Group Buyer to join our Purchasing team. Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring we source the right materials, equipment, and services to support our operations and projects across the business.
Job Responsibility:
Act as the main purchasing contact for engineering and operational teams
Manage purchase requisitions and ensure timely, accurate ordering
Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, monitoring quality, cost, and delivery performance
Prepare RFQs and tender documents, supporting cost analysis and supplier selection
Drive cost‑reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for improved sourcing and standardisation
Evaluate costs, quality, and suitability of suppliers, materials, and equipment
select and support the development of suitable vendors
Maintain compliance with procurement policies and promote safe working practices
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ procurement experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier‑management skills
High level of numerical accuracy and analytical ability
Proficiency in MS Office

CIPS qualification (or studying toward it) is desirable
