Job Description:

The Engineering Analyst 2 is an intermediate level position responsible for a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and development of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned frameworks.

Job Responsibility:

utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications
analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts

Requirements:

2-4 years of relevant experience in Mainframe Application Support
solid understanding of z/OS, MVS, and dataset management (including VSAM)
advanced proficiency in JCL for all aspects of batch processing and utility usage
strong COBOL programming and debugging skills, with experience in COBOL-DB2 program development
in-depth knowledge of DB2 for z/OS concepts, advanced SQL, and experience with DB2 utilities and basic performance analysis
experience with EZT (Easytrieve) for reporting and data manipulation
understanding and practical experience with z/OS APIs for integrating mainframe applications (e.g., RESTful services, JSON/XML)
operational expertise with NDM (Connect:Direct) for file transfers and IBM MQ for messaging, including troubleshooting
proven ability to resolve complex production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and adhere to change management processes
experience with mainframe monitoring tools (e.g., OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW) and advanced debugging across various mainframe components
strong ability to create and maintain technical documentation
