Job Responsibility:
Participate in basic and detailed engineering design activities for offshore, maritime, oil & gas and renewable energy projects
Perform design reviews and provide technical input for Owner Engineering scopes, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards and regulatory frameworks
Conduct risk-based engineering assessments including FMEA, HAZID and HAZOP studies, and contribute to the identification of mitigation measures
Support development of engineering deliverables such as software modelling based analysis (load flow, short circuit harmonics, transient stability) and related technical reports
Contribute to technical and procedural reviews, assurance activities and study reports for ongoing and prospective projects
Assist in the preparation of proposals, tenders and technical scopes of work for clients across the offshore energy segment
Liaise closely with clients and internal project teams to ensure successful delivery of engineering outputs
Ensure all assigned work is completed in accordance with ABL’s QHSE policies, procedures and project execution standards
Support and/or lead assigned engineering tasks and studies within agreed timelines, cost constraints and quality expectations
Provide technical support during offshore/onshore site surveys, including inspections, verification activities and project audits
Requirements:
Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with significant related experience and/or training
or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in offshore, marine, oil & gas or related energy sectors
Previous shipyard experience or exposure to vessel construction, conversion or commissioning activities is a strong advantage
Demonstrated experience in basic and detailed engineering design, including preparation and review of technical drawings and engineering documents
Proven exposure to industry standards, class rules and regulatory requirements (e.g., ABS, DNV, IEC, IMO, API)
Experience conducting or contributing to risk-based studies such as FMEA, HAZID or HAZOP
Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus
Will have relevant industry experience
Strong people and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, energetic and engaging
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
Excellent presentation skills
Nice to have:
Master of Science qualification in Electrical Engineering
Shipyard experience as designer or construction commissioning supervision
