We are looking for a talented and result-oriented design engineer to join our creative team. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of engineering duties including designing, detailing, and releasing designs for manufacturing. The chosen engineer will also collaborate with product centres across the globe for design support, using in-depth knowledge of the latest design trends, engineering software, analytical and creative skills.
Job Responsibility:
Technical product support to the internal and external customers
Efficiently prepare layout, schematic and detailed drawing
Ensure designs are based on the established standards and specifications
Maintain existing engineering record and designs
Create and maintain bill of materials
New products engineering and product improvements
Provide technical support to procurement activities
Product Safety
Participation in delivery projects, pre-assemblies, and customer audits
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
6–8 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering
Hands-on experience with Catia 3Dex, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools
Ability to create, read, and manage mechanical drawing with GD&T requirements and BOMs
Experience working with PDM systems (drawing release, BOM structure, ECN handling)
Strong knowledge of metallurgy, international standards, and technical specifications
Understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness)
Strong problem analysis and root cause solving capability
Ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, procurement, and suppliers
Structured, detail-oriented mindset with good documentation discipline
Good spoken and written English for cross-site or customer interaction
Willingness to travel, inside India & globally
Nice to have:
Experience or familiarity with Pulp & Paper mill equipment/products
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with global and cross-regional colleagues
Other languages are a merit
Experience in new product development (NPD) or RTD projects
Knowledge in quality engineering, audits, corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Production-floor experience or prior production management exposure
Ability to design fixtures or tooling for manufacturing optimization
Experience handling customer claims and site measurements
Supplier development and technical communication with vendors
Data-driven mindset (manufacturing data collection, quality cost analysis)
