Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Aberdeen, SD. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that shape our community’s infrastructure. Your expertise in civil engineering principles and design practices will contribute to the successful planning, design, and implementation of construction projects. Some of these projects include analysis and design of general civil site development related projects for commercial, residential multi-family, and subdivisions including drainage, site grading, pavement design, parking lot and site layout, stormwater management, and similar projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage activities and people on specific projects
  • Prepare or oversee detailed engineering analyses, schedules, technical reports, etc.
  • Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project
  • Calculate cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data and performs construction contract administration including preparation on bid documents, contracts, change orders, resolving construction field issues, and project closeout
  • Meet client needs from project conception to completion

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in municipal engineering
  • South Dakota Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with groups both internally and externally
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and discipline specific software
  • Strong written, verbal communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
