In this role, you will support the Technical Manager in ensuring the safe operation of vessels within the Pilot Boat Service contract. This will include the maintenance and repair of all engineering, electrical and hull systems and equipment on pilot boats, gig boats, oil spill response vessels and survey boats. You will be required to provide out-of-hours cover as needed to support operational requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Technical Manager in ensuring the safe operation of vessels within the Pilot Boat Service contract
Maintenance and repair of all engineering, electrical and hull systems and equipment on pilot boats, gig boats, oil spill response vessels and survey boats
Provide out-of-hours cover as needed to support operational requirements
Carry out the responsibilities of the Duty Engineer, providing out-of-hours cover for the Pilot Boat Service on a duty rota basis
Complete assigned tasks relating to the planned maintenance schedule
Assist with the maintenance of the inventory of mechanical and electrical spares, as directed by the Technical Manager
Maintain and retain engineering checklists as directed by the Technical Manager
Requirements:
Served time as a Marine Engineer, Plant Engineer, 4th Engineer or equivalent
Flexible with working hours as there will be an on-call rota with availability required every third week
Full UK Driving License
Within 1 hour commuting distance of Marine Base, Liverpool
